This week in maths we have been working on subtraction where we have to exchange tens and ones- this has been quite tricky but we are all starting to get the hang of it.
In PSHE we have been looking at fire safety and learning about what hoax calls are and why they are not a good idea! This week we finished off our learning by designing posters to tell people about the dangers of hoax calls.
In music we have been looking at the work of the composer Sibelius and in particular his piece Finlandia. Today we talked about how the beginning sounds like a storm. We then had a go at creating our own class composition about a storm by coming up with symbols and sounds to depict a storm. We practised it before performing it together. The final result really sounded like a storm!
To carry on our work on Mary Anning, we thought today about the ups and downs of Mary’s life. We looked at key events and then decided if they were happy or sad. We then plotted the events on a graph to show the ups and downs.
