Year 2 Blog

 In order to prepare making our own vehicles in a few weeks we had a go at joining chassis, wheels and axles together. We investigated different ways to attach the axles and wheels and chose our favourite way to draw and label.

 In history we continued to look at Mary Anning. Today we thought about why Mary Anning was special and what her personality was like. We thought about when in her life she showed she had these characteristics. 

 In maths today we were starting to look at the topic of position and direction. We started by looking at the language of direction including the words forwards, backwards, left and right. We then had to write down instructions to move a character to a particular place on a grid using the language we had learnt. This was trickier than it looked! 

 Today was RE day. We thought about the idea of remembering and what important events we might remember in our lives and how we remember them. We then learnt about the Jewish tradition of Shabbat and learnt about how this tradition helps Jews to remember the creation of the World and that God had a rest on the seventh day. We learnt about what Jews can and can’t do on Shabbat and how they celebrate.
