History L.O. Describe the various stages in Guy Fawke’s life leading to the discovery of the plot.’

Image
Moving around the room  to different ‘locations’ ( York, Spain, London, Westminster) we discovered how these places had importance in the life of Guy Fawkes. We acted out some of the incidents that took place and tried to guess what they were. Finally, we sequenced the events in his life leading up to the plot.

Science - Food Chains

Image
Today we finished off our learning about living things and their habitats, creating our food chain books and learning more about why plants are producers. We learned that without plants, nothing would be alive, as they are the only living thing that can make their own food, from sunlight, air and water. We had great fun pretending to be plants!

English Lo: to describe an alien using adjectives

Image
In English this week we imagined that Neil Armstrong landed on the moon and saw an alien. We drew pictures of what these aliens looked like and then wrote descriptions to go with the pictures including adjectives to describe what they looked like and what they were like as characters.

L.O. To write a description of and alien.

Today we pretended to land on the moon just like Neil Armstrong. When we arrived, we had to pretend we could see an alien. We then worked together to build a word bank of adjectives about the alien. Afterwards, we drew a picture of our alien and wrote a description.

Maths: Numbersense

Image
Year 2 have really been enjoying practising their maths fluency using numbersense each day. After a quick fire practise on the board of number facts we then complete a quick worksheet. Our teachers can really see that this is helping us in our maths lessons.

Image
Year 2 really enjoyed a visit from Nicholas the Knight this week to help us with our learning about alternative spellings for the ‘n’ sound including kn, gn and nn. He brought some games with us to help us practise.
