DT Lo: to investigate wheels, axles and chassis

 In order to prepare making our own vehicles in a few weeks we had a go at joining chassis, wheels and axles together. We investigated different ways to attach the axles and wheels and chose our favourite way to draw and label.

RE: light as a symbol

 During RE day yesterday Year 2 thought about the idea of candles and light as a symbol. We thought about how we use candles, for example on a birthday cake. We then learnt about the Jewish festival of Hanukkah and the Christian celebration of advent and how both religions use candlelight to help them remember special events in their religion. We then made our own candle holders out of salt dough.

PE- Inclusive Sports

 Today, Year 2 looked at inclusive sports! More specifically, they had a go at boccia and new age curling. After a quick explanation of the rules, they were away and it did not take long for the children to get the hang of it.
