2022-24 Year 2 Blog

 Today we welcomed author Simon Murray into year 2 to talk to us all about his books. He told us about how he got the ideas for his story about his character Icky Doo Dah which he writes and illustrates. He taught us about how he illustrates his books using contrast, detail and texture. 

 Today, Year 2 spent the entirety of their PE lesson outside in the glorious sunshine. Their focus for the lesson was to begin to understand the skills needed to be successful at passing to teammates and eliminating opponents. 

 In art we have been looking at primary and secondary colours. This week we looked at shades, discovering that we can make colours lighter or darker by adding white or black to them. We chose a colour and then painted a picture using shades of that colour.
