Year 2 Blog

 To carry on our work on Mary Anning, we thought today about the ups and downs of Mary’s life. We looked at key events and then decided if they were happy or sad. We then plotted the events on a graph to show the ups and downs. 

 We welcomed Ruth into school today for a fabulous  workshop all about Judaism. Ruth taught us about the Jewish festival of Shabbat. We tasted some grape juice and designed our own challah covers. We then had a look at lots of things which would be in the synagogue before finally making our own candles. 

 To start our new history unit all about Mary Anning we became fossil hunters! We started to learn a few facts about Mary’s life. We then had a go at looking for fossils ourselves. 

 To finish off our unit on architecture we became architects ourself designing and making our own buildings. We had pieces of foam board and cardboard which we joined together to create our masterpieces.
